Word Rock - An Indian Ballad
The Trees spoke quietly to me today They said there's a great storm headed your way I went to the wise old owl to ask about this For I was afraid of all I might miss He shook his head and grandly spread his wings but not before saying, "My child, look to your dreams" He said to lay my head on a dark, stone, cold rock And dream my dreams that will help me unlock Dream dreams of opportunities just for the taking After that you will feel a great earth shaking Things had to change and now it was up to me But there was one more that I needed to see I went to Word Rock my Cherokee child For my dream was haunting and not very mild Don't be afraid of the storm that comes your way For the great spirit showed me; there will be no dismay I'll speak to the storm, the wind and the rain But it's all up to you and your Indian name Use your strength and your mind to make sense of it all Leave the past behind and you will not fall! Go forth, Word Rock, go forth!
