Perhaps
Perhaps it was the moonlight In your eyes that evening. Or the smell of your skin Or the way the wind was singing Maybe it was the way you Spoke my name like a prayer Or the way your fingers brushed my arm in the summer air Maybe it was that first slow kiss Your hand on my cheek, my Breath escaping in a sensual hiss It might have been the desire Shaking your body, the need Building an all consuming fire It was that first admittance of love Leaving softly from your lips With promises yet spoken of That destroyed me, trapped me Broke down the wall built My emotions surging, bursting free It was everything that is Was, Has yet to be, crashing Around me. you broke this This carefully constructed shield Raised diligently to withstand Too strong to yield You left me broken, consumed In my love for you. Hopelessly Hoping. Admittedly confused. We had a love so strong so, real Or so I thought? Maybe I Who gave everything was the only one to feel.
