Beautiful Jewelry Found Was Healing My Heart
I know this…they were too young to die b e f o r e - but left behind BEAUTIFUL treasures for me to a d o r e. Sincerity of a grandmother takes precedence over anything, old jewelry left behind, but back then none of them for me- Rubies, amethysts and her b e a u t i f u l diamond wedding ring, were all left to my sister, the oldest daughter in the family. Grandmother and Karen were close and lived together at a time, and when she died Karen inherited all her stunning JEWELRY, Not a day went by when grandmother wasn’t on her mind, and growing up I could see how special to grandmother was she. One tragic New Year’s Eve day in two thousand and ten, Karen went missing and my heart was just broken- For she was so depressed and filled with t o r m e n t back then, I still remember our last kiss and final words spoken. After they FOUND her body and realized she took her life, they returned her belongings she had worn that day- Oh, how her world was filled with such anguish and strife, I could really u n d e r s t a n d why she didn’t want to stay. I was sifting through her belongings and found an angel pendant, it WAS gold plated with a silver halo just above her head, Now being that to grandmother Karen was a d e s c e n d a n t, I remembered the angel was her favorite, my heart bled. The angel had been passed down from my great-grandmother, and now it was mine to hold dear to my bleeding heart- This was the most special h e i r l o o m, I’d never find another, and then the needed HEALING in my soul began to start. It is still pinned gently right above my collar on my coat, I c a r r y it with me during the chilly winter season- During warmer days I pin the angel on MY special tote, And maybe leaving me their special treasure is the reason. Keeping the angel heirloom close to my suffering HEART, brings a sadness yet c h e r i s h e d memories that never shall part.
