"shorty" My Brother Sean
He came into the world, the usual way, Kind of small and unusual they said, Little did they know how wrong they could be? A heart as strong as a lion has he, With will to match, the most cunning has he. An intellect, most sterling, of fortitude and grace, Far from the looks, of his angelic face. Though small of stature, was his make, To think him little, was a greave mistake, A scholar he was in his childhood days, The likes of which, they wrote in plays. The lessons of life, they taught him much, Hard was his way, often unjust. Never did it break his stride, or weaken his resolve, No matter how big the problem, he managed to solve. Time came to pass, with a blessing to be, A natural born footballer, he was to see, With fleet of foot, and swift of hand, His prowess was known throughout the land. Through many a battle, on the field, did he pass, Never yielding, until the last. When came a time for the end of his sporting ways, To hang up the boots, to end his days, He met the love of his life, the woman he would marry, And make his wife. It is said that it takes two halves to make a whole, In this, he found, the love at last, to fulfil the role, That had long escaped his grasp. Know looking forward to the happy days, when lives are shared in, compatitable ways, to look at the man and what he has become, To hold him high, and toast a glass, for though turning forty, is a milestone for Shorty, so begins the next chapter in this story. To Sean Michael, I wish you joy on this happy occasion, in your life, With the good company of friends, and your darling wife, And love you truly, for whom you are, For I know truly, how deep, are your scars. Forever and Always You’re Big Brother Clement John Hardy.
