My Name Is Demas
In the sphere of time, there are essentially three worlds. One world may or may not be influenced by the other; But they are absolutely different and distinctive worlds. We may experience one of them and learn from another; And one of them has a mind of its own, full of secrecy and wonder. Simply mortals are we, with hopes aplenty, but our choices do matter. Hello. My name is Demas, an associate of the Apostle Paul. Believe it or not, the Greek meaning of my name is, ‘Popular’. I once associated with a giant of a man, so challenging and loving. In spite of his incredible inspiration and wisdom, I forsook him still. The offers of one world was such that they clouded all views of the others. Supposedly, I respected him as my hero, but my choice of worlds was greater and meant more to me at the time. Now, a misty mystery surrounds me, and I regret the ‘present world’ that I chose. It may be too late for me; but I beg of you to weigh wisely your choice of worlds. May you learn, although I did not, that yesterday’s world longs to teach for today’s gain. May you learn, although I did not, to tread wisely this present world, avoiding tomorrow’s pain. 10082016 PS Bible: 2 Timothy 4:10
