Sleep Well Tonight
It's been a long time since I visited you, But today this is what I must finally do. Today is the day that I was born, My feelings for you were very torn. Why did you throw me away like trash? Time is a enemy and goes by in a flash. I wanted to love you so much, I longed for your gentle touch Now look at you, you're left all alone, It seems like no care has been shown. Overgrown vines cover your headstone, Many years ago you left me on my own. When I did find you lived in this old cemetery, And oh boy, that revelation alone was scary. I have three kids now and I forgive you, I can't judge, you did what you had to do. I love you and I will visit you soon, Sleep well tonight under the moon. 10-05-16 Contest: Overgrown With Vines Sponsor: Broken Wings
