A Lovers' Tiff
The lady: ” I am getting tired of your jabbering---Wouldn’t it be nice to take you on a cruise…wouldn’t be nice to live in a beach house.--I am tired of your empty promises.” The gentleman: “They are my fantasies. You are always starring in them. I don’t make rash promises.” The lady: “My mind is made up. I don’t want you near.” The gentleman: “That has been my fear.” “But you must know that you’ve always been my only dear” The lady: “Please… that does not mean anything.” The gentleman: “What we had is something.
