Second Chances
You get a lot of second chances in life Some are more deserving then others The most important ones, by far Are made between consoling lovers Let’s give this one more shot To really say we tried Then if it doesn’t work In that I can confide Some are not so lucky And are left wondering why What did I do, how can I change So my next ‘ship wont sail me by Those of us who are lucky enough And are given that second chance Will risk it all to not repeat That unfortunate circumstance I definitely consider myself To be a ‘lucky one’ I thought that I had lost my love But I have most certainly won Just having love back in my life Is fulfilling in it’s own But having his love back in my life Is a feeling I’ve never known I didn’t realize at first The gift that God was giving Even when I wanted to die He helped me keep on living And even though I could live without He knew I didn’t want to I know I don’t need you in my life But I can’t stand to be without you Even though you broke my heart And left me in a trance At least you came back to fix it And that deserves a second chance
