Song of Nature
I let the song of nature wash over me from gentle streams to mighty rivers I'm flying like an all-seeing eagle And drifting like a carefree duck For I am the minerals hidden in the Earth And the gasping wind on a hot day The Earth is my playground And the mountains are my playmates But sometimes I just chill out And listen to the chatter of squirrels As I collect wild berries and whistle True freedom is found at the bottom of the lake Where the crabs walk sideways Pinching at me in indignation But at the end of the day when the sun is setting And shimmering on my wet skin I feel more alive than I've ever felt before As I take in the cacophony of music From the songs of cicadas To the forlorn hoot of owls I let the song of nature wash over me Just another child of the Earth
