Yesterday's Children
So soon they slip away from new born babes cuddly and cute to wedding dresses and tuxedo suits. If we could capture the moment when we saw them growing we'd teach them all they should be knowing. Time doesn't hold still it speeds forward restless and unseen they wonder what took so long to get the adult scene. The girl a woman, the boy a man independent and setting out to the world we watch dismayed they might be spoiled. Soon enough we see they are strong and boldly forward make living life to its fullest with every step they take. Cautious and suppressed we pat our backs in smiled success as they leave home to get their own address. In our hearts we still cling to see them as our babes in arms forever and yesterday's children were our best endeavor.
