Amazing America
Dear America, You have been deservedly deemed ‘the beautiful’; and without a doubt, you have been bountifully blessed. This July 4, 2016, we gladly celebrate your 240th birthday. From sea to shining sea; from Canadian to Mexican border; From the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico, the tranquil skies Of moon and stars glittering in the darkness, will be set aflame With fireworks. America, you will glow in red, white, and blue. In addition, many like myself will pause for a fresh look at a Few amazing documents that provide the reasons behind it all. Early this morning, I treated myself and feasted on an enjoyable reading of The Mayflower Compact, The Declaration of Independence, and The Preamble to The Constitution of the U.S. America, those three documents establish your purpose for existence and give the true meaning of who you really are. I can’t help but notice that you, from the beginning, explicitly connected yourself to The God of the Bible. You brilliantly distinguished yourself as one who is committed to a ‘Biblical worldview’. Take the Mayflower Compact for example. Its subtitle line reads, “In the Name of God, Amen.” The first paragraph includes the phrase, the Grace of God. The second paragraph has three references to God. The references in progression are the Glory of God, the Christian Faith, and the presence of God. The Declaration of Independence uses the word God and Creation in the first two paragraphs. This powerful document ends its last paragraph with these two expressions: the Supreme Judge of the world and the protection of Divine Providence. This reality is simply amazing to me. Finally, the Preamble to The Constitution does not refer directly to a Deity, but uses the phrase, ‘secure the blessings of liberty’. How awesome you are America! I dare not say that you are flawless. In fact, you have served court to several "evils" in our world. Nevertheless, you have documented your willingness to bow to the will of The Almighty. To me, that is commendable. America. I bid you be made aware that millions are praying for you as attempts are being waged against you, your God-Fearing heritage, and your great documents of Law. America, I bid you not to worry nor be afraid. May you be reassured that though mortals may be in charge, God Himself, who is a very lovely Being, is in control. 07032016PSCtest.
