He Touched the Hand of Jesus
Chorus: He touched the end of Jesus when night was approaching, and the only light he saw was the warmth of His might; he touched the hand of Jesus to stop him from shivering, he knew that He would have ended his blight and fright. Verse I The morning sun never rose in his cloudy sky, he trembled in lurking shadows with eyes so dry, and looking inside he felt the emptiness and void left by need, but he wanted to live, not to die; many days he stood there and felt too cold... did anybody ever ask him, " Come inside? " Chorus: He touched the hand of Jesus when night was approaching, and the only bright light he saw was the warmth of His might; the touched the hand of Jesus to stop him from shivering, he knew that he would have ended his blight and fright. Verse II Kicked, cursed and despised for his behavior, he was laughed at by his friends and all; buried in grief, he couldn't find another door that could be opened and begin to stroll. Chorus: He touched the hand of Jesus when night was approaching, and the only bright light was the warmth of His might; he touched the hand of Jesus to stop him from shivering, he knew that He would have handed his blight and fright. Verse III Late that evening around nine, he gave up all hope, he was ready to lay down and never wake up; a generous man walked by, his tunic tied with a rope, He stared at him and handed him a warm cup and said, " Drink up, by morning you'll be made new! " The weary man stretched out his bony hand and touched his garment while his breath slowly withdrew... he finally felt at ease and went to sleep resting his head. Chorus He touched the hand of Jesus when night was approaching, and the only bright light he saw was the warmth of His might; he touched the hand of Jesus to stop him form shivering, he knew that He would have ended his blight and fright. Verse IV He touched the hand of Jesus, not knowing that the mysterious man was the Savior revealing Himself in the most humble way with a greeting; He touched the hand of Jesus, long he had waited for such a joyful moment when someone would show kindness of heart to a soul in need of comfort. Ending: He touched the hand of Jesus on a January snowy night when his bones were cracking; he touched the hand of Jesus, and all the coldness melted as he returned to the living.
