Fun Around Town
I raise my glass up high, for every bleeding wrist, and for the times we'll miss. I hang on till the bitter end. Like the last bit of flesh, that clings to a rotting skull. Feeling fine, I find my way out of the bar. I make my way through the avenues & alleyways. I see myself in the glass as I pass. Another night in this carnival town. I'm all too familiar with this waste and filth. I watch the people as they leave work, beaten down by life and always tired. The smoke from the cars swirl and hang still, like ghosts. A women waits for the bus, beads of sweat on her brow. With no legs it's hard to get around town. I look down and see the last patch of grass for miles. From it grows the saddest flower that ever was. Off color and bent from the weight of all the grime. I'm sure the scent from it would be toxic. I look to the sky in hopes of finding solace there. But the City Lights and smog smother the late evening view. 4/16/16
