An Enchanting House
My eyes are so sleepy and soon I am dreaming, I find a staircase and leave my reality; At the top of the stairs is a house enchanting, My childhood home, oh such delightful fantasy. And I open the door, To a house I adore; And then I see Suzanne, Oh, the Lord had a plan . . . Suzanne would leave us weeping, but here was playing, Oh, in this enchanted house dwells my family; I hear Mom and Grandma in the kitchen talking, Their laughter like tingling bells of a rhapsody. Down below an uproar, I go down to explore; Oh Dad I almost sang, A story Dad began . . . Dad was telling Grandpa a big tall tale laughing, Then, I go up to my room where I was happy; With my dolls and teddy bears and books still waiting, My family, entwined in this sweet tapestry. Enchanted house for sure, And from my eyes tears pour; All dead - the Lord's command, I turned away and ran . . . back to reality . . . __________________ May 20, 2016 Rhyme Verse For the contest, Enchanted House sponsor, Nayda Ivette Negron Third Place
