Not So Green On the Other Side
Light filtering through the closed shade Slowly opening eyes to life’s charade Having given all I knew how to do I wept While his breathing let me know he still slept Wondering what I'd done to earn this disrespect The cutting words flung my way so direct His last words you’re not what I want anymore I have new plans with a better life in store I need my freedom to do just as I wish Without family to make me feel selfish Spend time as I wish with friends I choose Looking out for myself I haven’t time to lose I’ll put this life of responsibility in the past Find my own happiness and make it last Now all alone without responsibility Wondering how great is this lonely reality Dedicated to my angel. It will get better and will see you will stand strong.
