I feel I still feel the need to choose flight, And my mind has been tempted to do things just out of spite, Yet instead of starting a fight, I will always continue to do what is right, For as a peaceful person at some point I know I need to alight. I just don’t understand people and why they do the things they do, Because of this I smartly only trust a select few, For the things I’ve endured you would’ve never knew, Weirdly enough I thank God for all that he’s put me through, It all changed me and I became someone new. The new me is a little more aware, The new me also gives blank stares, Because some things that people do I can’t even bare, And also because I don’t understand how people can pretend like they care, Honestly though for those people all I can do is send them prayers. The new me is stronger, I can’t tolerate the disrespect any longer, From a third person’s point of view they see it as “there’s no reason to wrong her.” It took me awhile to accept the new me, For once I feel a little more free, I actually feel like I can breathe, But I’m still a prisoner of Ana so there’s no halt to this siege.
