Just a Thought
Never to such lofty order have I treasured company. Yet the promise of your presence grants a peace so true to me. I wonder if you’re conscious of the medicine you bring. My wounded form is desperate to hear you laugh and sing. The thought of you is greater than the confines of my mind. The sight of you is perilous, yet I don’t wish to be blind. A vortex is my waking, shrinking to a single place— a paradisal scene that pales before your lovely face. Ah! What are you doing? Perhaps you cannot know! If this is but your shadow, how can I face the glow? O dear, I cannot stop it. Your might leaves me no choice. Am I commanded actively? No words ... where is your voice? Regardless, how can I resist? Ne’er shall I be blue, for I drink deep of happiness when’er I dream of you. 9 May 2016
