Lost In Our Words
We must lose ourselves in our words, or our words will be lost. We must believe in our genuine gifts, no matter what the cost. You are the reason my pen keeps flowing. The reason why I stay up late at night thinking about nothing but what words I can give you to let you know my true dedication. Life is short and our relationship is strong. No matter the time or place I will always be next to you whispering sweet nothings so gentle making sure your heart can breathe my verses. Can your soul read my words? Do you get lost in my words? I will utterly desire your embrace as long as my fingers keep writing. You know me by now… I have a difficult time expressing my affection with speech from my lips. My pen would be lost if I didn’t have your paper to keep me alive. If you left my hand would go weak. l would freeze and no more writing could I give to the world. Your words keep me alive. They free me from the chains of my insecurities. My words keep you alive. For you need my long lost love journals to exist. When you die, I too will die. I would be lost without words to say how much sorrow I would feel. For my quill will always need your parchment. Our gifts would be lost if we don't lose ourselves in our words. Without perseverance our pen and paper would go on unheard. For the contest, Any Poem You Ever Wrote NOT For A Contest Sponsor, Broken Wings Date Written: May 2, 2016
