In Memories
I was quite young when I started dreaming of him, Each night I dreamt of a mysterious handsome man; My dress was purple chiffon and floated around me, And we would waltz together perfectly in a grand room. Although I saw him, I could never really describe him, His face always seemed to be in deep shadows; One night he took me to his castle on a hill faraway, It was so vast with many rooms and doors and doors. I am not sure how we got there, it seemed we flew, Each night he came to me and kissed my ruby lips; And always he took me to his castle and we would dance, One night he gave me my own room within the castle. Oh it was lovely, it was so cozy, it even had a fireplace, When I dreamt, I called for him to come, come my darling; And soon I heard his breathing in the corner of my room, We would go to the castle on a hill surrounded by blue. And this is how it went for years until one night it changed, He did not come when I called him and I was frantic; I screamed and wept and was heartbroken, please I begged, Then he was there and picked me up caressing my hair. Be still he whispered, and he carried me in his arms, I found myself in my castle room within his embrace; At first I was calm, I am still dreaming and will wake soon, And I did, each dawn I was in my own bed, weeping. That room in the castle on a hill was our love nest, When I was young he came each night and took me; Then, he was gone, he only lives in my dreamy memories I can still see the castle on the hill and my room within. __________________________ April 19, 2016 Poetry/Verse/In Memories Copyright Protected, ID 16-780-589-0 All Rights Reserved.
