Dust-dancing in the heat testing my wings in cat stalked gardens leaving home at mother’s request. Dodging the blowing leaves red crested trees mimic me as I revel in ripened plenty puffing feathers in the coolness of a new felt stirring. The wind no longer cradles me in weakened warmth of sun’s long shadowed departure.
