Lady In Silhouette
A lot had been stolen from her Her honor, her pride, her smile Fully clothed yet she felt bare Gone are her youth and guile Behind the white backlight She quietly sat with subtle poise A silhouette in the bright moonlight An outline oblivious to the noise Nobody sees her as she is A blank face in black image Nobody floats into her midst As if aware of the cover of her page Afar, he saw the contour of her face A featureless shape visible in the dark A shadow profile that held him amaze Of how beautiful she is even in black Determined, he started to visually paint He saw a lady content with her place He guessed she’s badly beaten by fate Though he can’t see emotions in her face For what woman can be comfortable To lounge in the dark all by herself A confidence obviously noticeable In the dark where he was hiding himself In his mind, he painted her silhouette A portrait of a woman in the shadow With the sweetest smile he can’t forget A glow in the dark he’s privileged to know.
