The Scents of Autumn Once Smelt
The scents of autumn once smelt, Bring back the reminisces of times When I, like same-minded folks much felt Like spinning on the wheels of rhymes. Those times when the atmosphere Strode softly on the passions of muse, So much that in their symbiosis' fair Great men of ink-and-papyrus did peruse. Once upon an autumn, I could recall How I and some friends at Siron's lake Talked and swam and laughed till nightfall, And wished we were there till daybreak. O, days when the world kind and gay, Was still a destination of decency; Ages in which people of old did stay With less tales of envy and conspiracy! The scents of autumn once smelt, Would you please bring back the times, When people of heart like mine felt Like spinning on the wheels of rhymes?
