Assumption Tore Apart
My intentions were never to fight you, I had no one to relate to share to, On many occasions you brought me back, To the past through the same feelings you had, I looked up to you, I respected your strength, I wanted the fear I had hidden so long to go away, My heart was dying slowly yet you saw me as a threat, I looked to you like family, yet I got ridiculed instead, I turned my back and walked away, How could I trust someone who would make fun of my pain, Is this the family I thought i knew? After all the loss we all had been through? My heart sank so low, I couldn't stand the pain, I had no choice but to walk away, It took all my strength just to open up my heart, But it was your assumptions that tore it apart.
