Great Hall
I walk into large hall Boundless dread enters my soul Only eerie silence I hear The darkness and flame inspire fear The stairs lead upwards towards the dark But light of torches slightly penetrates the dark It is too dark the top of the stairs to see But who is up there is obvious to me Who is there beyond nature science and religion is The great overseer of the abyss Sitting on a chair of platinum he is although his face I cannot see And he is the only one who would dare judge me But is the face in the dark true Of that I unfortunately have no real clue Is really he the master of all? Or a demon trying to control my soul I know he has a chalice and the sword But so far he has not spoken a word Will he let me drink from chalice of life? Or use sword on me to cause death or strife But in this accord I look at my own sword Should I fight or take him at his word Is he the lord? He uses neither chalice nor the sword Instead he wishes me to spread his word If his word is right to me I will yield to his majesty But now I have wings I’m free And I will do what is right for me I have as good chance as anyone I see For the next person sitting on platinum chair to be me
