We Aren'T What We Seem
You see us walking down the street, but we never meet. You look at us and see what you want to. Taking time out of your day is too difficult, so we go on with our lives, Living behind a stereotype disguise. A “try-hard,” Who are they really? They get the best grades and succeed in all their escapades, but inside they cry. Their homes may be broken and all they have to live for, is walking through that school door. Their feelings are unspoken, all alone they live not cared for. (Chorus) Livin’ behind, a stereotype disguise We aren’t what we seem. We aren’t what we seem. Look into our eyes, and you will see... Our lives, our feelings, May be different than you believe. A young girl, a sick girl- She’s clinically depressed. Labeled and made fun of, for the way she dressed. She’s pushed in the halls, they write on the walls, about her. Her mother is dying, and now she is too. She longs for a friend, why not you? (Chorus) Livin’ behind, a stereotype disguise We aren’t what we seem. We aren’t what we seem. Look into our eyes, and you will see... Our lives, our feelings, May be different than you believe. (Bridge) Uniqueness is key, to living life like a family. We all can get along, be strong! We aren’t what we seem. We aren’t what we seem. One day we will be, all a family. We’re loved all the same, no one to blame. Once felt all alone, now they feel at home. Our love is a flame, let it burn. It’s your turn to make a difference- in a life. We aren’t what we seem. We really aren’t. (Chorus) Livin’ behind, a stereotype disguise We aren’t what we seem. We aren’t what we seem. Look into our eyes, and you will see... Our lives, our feelings, May be different than you believe. Yeah, we aren’t what we seem. Live your dream…. We aren’t what we seem to be, Be free.
