Six Am Sorrows
BEEP BEEP! BEE— *click* Am I awake? No. BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP! BEEP! BEE— FINE! Crawling out of my pillow fort. Eyes crusty. Yawn across my face. I fall and Hit the ground. I’M AWAKE! Shuffling steps lead to the bathroom. Dilating pupils hide from the obnoxious fluorescent rays. These days are grueling. Peeking out the window, eyes whimper to return to that comforting home of darkness and serenity. Pitter patter. Pitter patter. The mocking voice of rain calls me back to the unconscious realm I crave, knowing I have responsibilities. I hesitate to decide. Only five more minutes. It replies, swaying my thoughts. But five minutes turn into 10. Then 20. Can you afford that? No. The day will not hesitate to abandon your procrastinating presence. So swallow your six a.m. sorrows And wake up.
