Monstrosity - To Transliterate Fate
Up in the old house down by the creek Stood a mammoth waiting on me. Blackbirds in the sunshine (are) Omens (that) fly high in the sky… Solemnly seizing Martin Luther’s time (of) Religion and precarious minds… Down by the river close to the sea I saw his eyes looking through the trees. White men personified lost their lives (without) Fear or compromise… Walking through the valley feeling free He came running after me. Blackbirds in the sunshine (are) Omens of their time (were) Grave to Jackson’s mental denial of the Missouri Compromise… Never a day do I not see The prophecy to be. The Confederate flag yet hangs high. Monstrosity! White men lives personified were of manifold (because) Fear or compromise was not a greater source. Down by the lake sitting near the pond Stood Jake Peter Faulkner with his shotgun. Blackbirds in the sunshine (are like) Eagles soaring high in the sky… Near the tropopause down by the stream Stood the children telling their dreams. They call them Monstrosity! Solemn to Civil Rights time (while) Ritualizing a political asylum (caused by) Oppression and incarceration of the mind… Up on the hill top near a jet stream The mammoth watched the City people. Transition is denied; but oh, transgression defines. Over in the neighboring City, Folks talk of prophecy. They call it Monstrosity! Monstrosity - Monstrosity - Monstrosity! ____________________________________________________| Written 03/12/2016!
