A Little Less Than Happy
Always wrong and never right, Decisions poor, try as I might, Not happy, though I’m not much less, How did I get into this mess? I was young, still am, like you, Had no one else, so never knew, That what I want, it does exist, But only some in you persists. At first I thought you’re all I need, Wanting more I thought was greed, And though I know our love is true, I’m missing things when I’m with you. Our passion, love, your touch, our kiss, I never hope that I will miss, Yet speech, respect, a few things more, Are gone and now my heart’s at war. Though sad, I know I still love you. So tell me now, what should I do? Can we both work hard to set things right? Or is it just another night? To stay, to break, to set you free, To fear, to grieve, why can’t you see? I am, I fear, I must confess, Not happy, though I’m not much less. August 25, 2013
