Butterfly
Another poem written by my father Jose Zayas, this is another poem he wrote when I was 18, please enjoy this poem! The caterpillar has surfaced, From her cocoon. It has taken her eighteen years, But she has morphed, Into the most colorful and carefree butterfly, With a goal that will take her to many places, And lack to her beginnings... Observe her now! As she scurries along life's lily pads, And emerses herself against wildflowers of spring. Observe her now as she flies along life's river bed, To coat her beautiful wings with golden rays of sunshine, That seems to warm her soul... Observe her now as she rests upon life's pebble, And gently lifts herself to heights of exploration... Observe her most colorful and carefree beauty, As she gently soars towards blades of wheat and barley, Now wither her grasp and for soars, With gentle western winds behind her back, That strengthen her upon her journeys... ¡Aye que si! But does not Argentina await thee? Most colorful and carefree butterfly? Does not life's season patiently anticipate your arrival? And does not it's departure graciously accept you? And now that you're morphed are you not even nearer to disclosure, Closer to your creator?
