The Bet
Rome 02.2002 The Bet Was made to end this stupid game... If I had won; I would have asked to see the REAL you! I would have asked to see the man, I first noticed at the photocopier, one day in October. The man that was waiting for me outside my office, when I got back to work. That man that picked me up, on a Sunday morning to go out for breakfast. The same man that didn't want problems or complications. I would have asked to see, the man with a boy's smile sitting on the counter after our first fight making all my anger disappear in an instant I would have asked to see the man, that walked beside me in the rain, and then sat and talked to me by candlelight. The same man, that picked me up from the airport, after a long journey home. the man that made me laugh, when I wanted to cry. the man that taught me to forget my past, and live again. But I lost the bet, and maybe a little more.
