Shaded Path
The heat has been beating me on the back, as the weather leathers my flushed skin, oh how I crave my shaded path. I remember those days, I'd walk miles to feel the strength this path gave. As I would approach it's threshold I hear the world change. The birds sing a new tune, and how the vines reach high, ascend towards the heavens, beyond any man's true height. They help build this canopy. It's as if the world around me knows how I feel, the heat, the exhaustion, that I just need a minute of inner peace. As I'm into the shaded path I feel a cool breeze, almost as if an icy breath melted the heat just to cool it for me. I hear the trees stir, the leaves, vines, flowers, branches all rearrange for me. the light becomes obsolete, The sun is completely shielded out by their change, how this shaded path tries to comfort and protect me. But my, this path is miles away, wait, there's a cool breeze, could it be?
