Snuggles and Old Smudges
I told everyone, no more cats for me! After the death of Patches, I was shattered; I still had old Smudges, it was me and she, Oh, a little grey cat all matted and tattered. After the death of Patches, I was shattered, Snuggles came in a cardboard box howling; Oh, a little grey cat all matted and tattered, A plastic bag held bowls and toys for playing. Snuggles came in a cardboard box howling, It was love at first sight, I love her to pieces; A plastic bag held bowls and toys for playing, Running, leaping and meowing never ceases. It was love at first sight, I love her to pieces, Everyday she must check cupboards and closets; Running, leaping and meowing never ceases, Old Smudges and Snuggles run past me, rockets. Everyday "they" must check cupboards and closets, They both cuddle up against me when I sleep; Old Smudges and Snuggles run past me, rockets, With a sigh, they stay all night without a peep. They both cuddle up against me when I sleep; I still had old Smudges, it was me and she; With a sigh, they stay all night without a peep, I told everyone, no more cats for me! __________________________ January 18, 2016 Poetry/Pantoum/Snuggles and Old Smudges Copyright Protected, ID 16-746-887-0 All Rights Reserved.
