Running Water
running water will a day ever come when you can slow down and be at peace like the stillness of a lake? running water for you I pray, you place your thoughts on the tales of shooting stars but in your moments of falling short grey clouds and rain will explain your pain. pools once footprints , no other feet can splash in my puddles. through earth and then over stone , two sides to a story but you can also find waterfalls inside of a concrete jungle. on the surface looking into you all they can see is their own reflection. running water the deeper I swim the more I am reminded of the flaws I see in my very own complexion. no one can cry me a river when one body of water can easily drown a human heart. maybe now I can see the reason in why you run, seeing no growth in familiar surroundings but what about those who journey far? beyond my comfort zone ill run with you until the day we both evaporate into the wind. someone with no legs but can run as free as he please. someone I could see but could never show me the places they've been.
