Isaiah, 43:2- These Words Comfort Me
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thee shall not burn; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43:2. I found this gospel verse in the hospital chapel one day, Just wandering the halls, weak but alive and pondering; From my coma, dreams had come drifting, confusing me, But the message was clear, I still had things to do. Sitting in the flickering candlelight of the silent chapel, I picked up the bible and opened it without any thought; My eyes fell to," when thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee;" And my heart was filled with love. At that moment I knew the LORD had been with me, He had protected me and that is the reason I survived; This verse, Isaiah 43:2 is my favorite gospel verse, When I am feeling low, this is where I go for comfort. It gave me such hope that I was never alone to struggle, No river would overflow me, no fire burn me, nor a flame; Yes, I would survive this illness and I would go on to write, To write my dreams and dreams, until my last breath. ____________________________ December 28, 2015 Verse For the contest, I Am Not Ashamed Of The Gospel Sponsor, Olive Eloisa Guillermo Third Place
