See You Soon
Years of prayers, Nights of worries, Days of endless tortures… Then… A morning of pain, Vomiting bile…could it be malaria? Moaning and retching. Next morning, Rising with the sun, Smell of eggs cooking, To the bathroom yet again. Missed visit!!! But she never is late, She is always punctual keeping each date, My heart misses a beat, really could it be? The doctor, Always serious fidgets and sighs, Me am sitting at the chairs edge, A smile breaks out and I know. Am numb, I don’t know what to do, Should I shout? Should I cry? I sit and bawl. The doctor smiles and leans back, Seated behind his massive desk And just lets me vent Then in comes the nurse her comforting shoulder to ‘lent’ A month is gone, The mirror tells me for the millionth time, “noooo bump yet, puleease chill, wait relax aaaah…” So I do, But then Alas! mon Dieu! something moves, I hold my tummy and I feel the kick again Surely I must be carrying the future karate champion. Eight months now, And everybody goes,”woow you are big” The mirror winks at me “ I told yah” The little angel inside of me, “Wait did I say little! I meant giant” Dances to the wild beats my heart likes to make As I sit in the sun wondering… Everybody says it’s painful,so… “I won’t panic, I won’t panic…” has become my mantra I buy headphones, when they talk I listen to music. But still though muffled I still hear, But I don’t care though am near Can’t wait for the day you get to here. I know yes I do, That I will scream and shout Probably pull a hair or two But baby can’t wait?see you soon.
