Drift Away
We can point out the flaws They surround like broken laws Criminal intent always abounds Egoists in fashion wearing crowns Crowns that appear polished Crowns that appear clean But don’t believe your eyes This is only what you’ve seen The worst appears the best The best appears the worst We live in a world Where cheaters come first We do nothing to change Sit idly by Yet when things don’t go our way We quickly question why? Traits once favored No longer abound Genuine and honest people Wondering in the lost and found Used to search for the path less traveled But now we follow a beaten path This pattern will continue We all await the aftermath But what will come? We weren’t shown the consequences We act like we want to improve But only break mended fences
