Big Girl
When you told me You don’t date “big girls” Several things started To run through my head What to you made a girl “big?” Was it her height? Did she make you feel small, Whenever she stood next to you? Or you know maybe it was her muscle A “big girl” made you Feel self-conscious because Her biceps were bigger than yours. You know she could be a “big girl” But then I realized to you “Big” was none of those things To you “big” Was an insult To you “big” was the weight a girl saw Whenever she stepped on the scale This made me think even more Maybe you are the kind of boy Who romanticizes eating disorders Maybe you are the kind of boy Who wants the girl who works out 3 hours a day And leaves herself nothing to nourish her body with after Or maybe you are the kind of boy Who can’t handle a “big girl” Because of how much she has to offer You can’t handle her Because big body means Big smile Big body means Big personality Big body means Big heart Maybe her glow outshines yours And you just can’t take it Maybe she is more passionate than you And you feel ashamed that you can’t give it back Because you have not yet Experienced someone who has so much room to fit someone else in But it does not matter Because I hate to break it to you boy She isn’t that fond of you either So next time you say That you don’t like “big girls” Remember that she doesn’t need your approval
