Adding Rhyme To My Free Verse, Cooking Poetic Stew
Adding Rhyme To My Free Verse, Cooking Poetic Stew My thoughts are dark as deep night, The stinging vine, the wisp of smoke, The elusive unicorn, freshly killed, Yet my hopes are dancing upon sunny days. Those memorable and glorious days, Sunny rays raking proud, tall trees, Flowing waters washing my tired brain, Swimming in cool, soft blue seas. Begging rain to let out its downpour, Crumbling towers in dark red sand, Life giving, my always wanting much more, Applause, applause, for the wondrous band. Casting myself down old and worn rocky paths, ~ ~ ~ An empty blue bucket in my left hand, Scattering of sunset rays upon my back, Rejecting safe pathways as just too bland. Grabbing storms by their raging, dark tails, Kissing lightning as skies it then adores, Empty boat , drifting alone with torn sails, Seeking lost paradise on mythical shores. I that write my dear addiction in poetic verse, Can not find the strong will to thus quit, Sometimes this blackness in writing is a curse, Like frothy blood in my life sustaining spit! Robert J.
