The Ring Didnt Do It
The ring didn't do it Nor did the kid number one And kid number two I even woke you up early sunday mornings To go to church Hoping to save you, us Even after you got home two in the morning that day from clubbing And counseling was a bad idea I did everything i could To help us, for our marriage They told me it's a cultural thing I believed it was bad genes The constant fighting, i started seeing no hope I wanted out I wanted to be far away from you as much as i could But the kids loved you, they still do And they were growing faster than we could tell He was becoming more like you, like daddy like son And she was so much like me, she reminded me of me They reminded us of us And we wanted to be better The drinking had stopped and the partying had declined We were growing older, you needed me more I needed you even more The spectacles of our eyes Had matured with age And with that, so was our maturity of love
