Prosaic Infatuation
Not going to try harder? Or is it too hard to try? Should I play hard to get? Or with alcohol ply? I would tell you a story, If I knew any good. But perhaps it'd be better To just know where you stood. I feel a little ridiculous Putting down into word The conflict inside me Over what has occurred. But I cannot resist When your face cracks a smile; It convinces me then That it's all been worthwhile. We gave it a chance To become something more, And risked a great deal To let hormones soar. And now we return, From a fantastic land, To the world of the living, Where kissing is banned. I do hope we stay Close by to each other Where I can at least be Some kind of a brother. But if that's not enough And you long to go further Then hold out your hand And we'll explore with fervor. Just don't be a stranger; I don't think I could stand it. I'd probably try stealing Your glance like a bandit. And with it I'd pull On your thread of attention Until I'd unraveled Your remaining apprehension. Wonderful things Would I do with my fingers While my tongue plays along Till your radiant glow lingers And with that I will leave you; I should definitely sleep. For I've memories to count Instead of just sheep.
