My Hands
My two hands are my dear friends, They are always by my side. I never realised how great they are, Until I lost their help after a stroke. I learnt to walk with their assistance, They held the walls and objects in my way, To save me from falling and hurting. They helped me from my childhood. My school days passed, successfully, Thank the hands which wrote the exams, And made me someone in the society, Thanks again for the life I led usefully. When I look back, I was surprised to note, They fed me , dressed me, made me a person. They cared for my husband, my children, My grand kids and made my life whole. The lifeless hands, were once my saviours, Helped me to pray to God for my needs. Dear God, thank you for giving me perfect hands, To serve you and the people around me.
