Put On Hold
You’re love for me, once wild and free, you seem to put on hold The time not right, in day or night, your arms will not enfold I’m left to feel the pain so real of being left alone While deep inside at eventide desire starts to roam My heart astress filled with distress at thoughts of pleasures passed Where passion burned and your heart yearned to hold me safe and fast The night aflame, unchaste, no shame, I laid bare all for you Of every thrill you got your fill and tasted honeyed dew Romanced the night till morning light, our lust we’d consummate Then quick repast to help us last, new whims to satiate We’d kiss and sigh and reach the high of passion’s trembling peak And reach as one and come undone and lie there spent and weak But now on hold, these moments, gold, you’ve turned to endless wait On hold, on hold, if truth be told, I crave this love to sate So come to me, and let us be, in lovefest intertwined Change that “on hold” and come be bold, to bed my body bind Hold on to hips and taste the lips with honey sweet and wet Unpause the time; taste the sublime, and love without regret And as you lie, contented sigh, your head on pillowed breast Your arms I'll hold, in mine, I'll fold, and let you dream and rest Eileen Manassian
