Are You There God
Are You There God? Are you there god, And not just a voice, A sound in my head, Or just a life-choice? Are you not just a reflection, Of what goes on in my life; Friendships, events, occurrences, And the things that cause me strife? Do you not just soak up my guilt, Of not giving foreign aid to Africa, Not showing care to my friend, And not doing what’s right without end? Are you physical, tangible, Touchable by my hands, Able to be defined, Ready with discernment stands? The physical is true and real, And determines the social; It’s me that's responsible, For my actions, thoughtless or noble. You are not there at all, But I can always ask, For a greater confidence, In my life task. You can't elicit or evoke, As someone would; You're not in any way proactive, But just a personality hood. People console and listen, Take away your fear, Stop the insecurity, Dry the wetted tear. 13th October 2015
