In My Days
In my days of sorrow, I look at my life. It saddens me to see what I find. I see weaknesses I didn't know I have, nor do I know where it came from. I see oppression that keeps a boy from becoming a man. I see childhood anger preventing me from living with peace in my heart. I see abuse that breaks down my ability to have compassion. I see a boy trying to stand up for himself, but keeps being kicked down, sand kicked in his face. I see a boy lost, not knowing where to turn for help, left to fend for himself. But In my days of joy I see where I draw my strength from, my strength comes from the Lord. I see grace that surpasses all understanding. Grace that keeps me alive. Grace that allows me to be me. I see a man rising from the ashes, a man picking up his sword ready for battle. A man preparing to take his place in this world, facing the enemy head-on. In the end I see a man that lived his life without regrets. I see a man that came out victorious. I see a man that learned from the past, applied it in his present life and for that now have peace in his heart. In conclusion I saw a boy going through pain and suffering (physical and emotional). I see a hardened man rising up, learning from the past and preparing for his future. I see a man in the near future, fulfilled, at peace and living a godly life, serving Christ. May I become like this man.
