The King Will Come
The King will come again, my lord From his crusade, far across the sea Where he fights for justice and the freedom of men In that sometime world, where blood and sand are blowin’ free Until then, my lord, you must protect his land This kingdom, plush with leaf and stream From those who dare invade and conquer To usurp his rule, of England’s pastures green For you, are his trusted, warrior bold To no other man would this task he impart He knows, you’d defend his realm at all cost For you still fight with courage, strength and heart Time was, your swords, would fight side by side But the aging of man, means your war days are done This quest the King needs the might of younger men Though whilst you protect England, you still fight as one When all the fighting is over, and the war is finally won The King will come again, my lord To sit once more upon England’s throne Then your time will come, to throw down the sword.
