Inside My Head
Inside my head of old cobwebbed - memories, my plain life filled with laughter and families… Stories that delight tedious nights; formed a stamp, in darkness of a flickering oil lamp. Frigid nights with blankets layered in a heap, little warm bodies snuggle to sleep. Fired wood-stove seeps thru thick-old-walls, up steep stairs and around narrow halls. Ice box chilled just enough to preserve, affably awaiting time for dinner to serve. No lights to glint the way in the dark, but candle or lamp to emit a spark. I hesitate to want what is now my past, simple to stay and forever last. Smiles that radiate everlasting feeling, a life so austere and appealing. Concern for innocence no longer heard of, rejecting mercy; ignoring love. Inside my heart I feel an enormous pain, unsure if I will yet see simple again. Progress way too fast- way too insensitive, lacking kindness- somewhat offensive… Vitality, not as priceless as before, no moment to prize, not anymore… Copyright © 2015 By Caryl S.
