It starts on the deck as a crescending rumble, The door is flung open and inside they all tumble. The baby's grabbed first and is smothered in kisses, again and again in case there are places she misses. The toddlers unable to wait in the line, Around her legs their little arms entwine. The adolecent may think hugs from grandma the worst, But remember if she doesn't do it she simply would burst. When a baby is born another life form takes hold, not small and young, but in comparison quite old. Just when she thinks the job of mum is all done, another career has started, a most important one. The role of a Grandma should not be defined, she can be rugged, sweet, demure or refined. One quality she has, surely must be, the ability to love each child equally.
