As the day passes it ticks away slowly with the sun rising high then directly overhead. The leaves and branches of the trees cast shadows that close in blocking out the light and whispering the day is half done. A soft, light, gentle caressing breeze touches the leaves lightly making the tree tremble in the shade and all goes still and quiet. Not a sound breaks the air all seems to be at rest breathing in the last days of summer that hung on then seemed to leave too soon.
