High School
High School... Where the continued shaping of who you will become occurs.... should you buy into others beliefs. Where you day dream about being one of the popular ones... the ones labeled winners and most likely to succeed. Just once you'd like to know what it felt like to have everyone envy you and want you to be on their team, instead of being the last one picked...and that's only because there was no one left. Just once you'd like to be included in the in crowd, instead of the outcasts. Just once you'd like to show up at school in a name brand outfit... instead of second hand clothes...as others point and laugh. Just once you'd like to feel what it felt like to sit at the popular table at lunch...instead of being blocked by someone everywhere you tried to sit down. Am I really That bad? Am I really that unworthy? Am I really such a Failure? Only if you buy into what they say They are the shallow ones...the ignorant ones. Someday they may very well find out what it feels like to be on the outside looking in. So stay strong! Know that you are loved...and those days of feeling less of a person will pass...as you who consider yourself an ugly duckling...will turn into a swan! P.R.Deremer
