The Dying of the Light
The Dying Of The Light The dying of the light, offers no saving hope Dark brings more fright hangman has his rope. Mind eats its own bread, sorrow plays a game Who cares if you are dead life is evil and often lame. Future waits for no man, death lays traps with glue No good to have a great plan if the devil is truly after you! The dying of the light, offers no saving hope Dark brings more fright hangman has his rope. Tomorrow hides from today, pain slinks in unannounced Too many, too little pay imps waiting just to pounce. Cry for help and more light the echoes serve to please The devils of each midnight eat crying souls with such ease! Robert J. Lindley, 08-09-2015 Note--I had a dream and in the dream the voice kept saying , "Beware! The dying of the Light comes." I woke up, walked to my computer, sat down and banged this one out. A bit dark and foreboding but so was the memory of the dream! Another verse was given to me in that dream but have I started a poem based upon it that shall go in my private journal. That poem will be much longer and is about halfway finished as of now. Already 36 verses inked..
